The London Eye

In our four years together, Ash and I have been to London a few times, but we had never been on The London Eye. Superbreak very kindly offered us two tickets* so we could tick the Eye off our list!

Our train left Bath at an ungodly hour and we made it down to the South Bank before 10am. The queue looked worse than it was - we waited about 15 minutes - and then we bundled in our capsule and started our 135m ascent over the Thames.

Unfortunately, we seemed to be visiting London on the greyest day for weeks, so the views out weren't as spectacular as they could have been, but there were still some great sights over Parliament and Big Ben and out to the BT Tower and The Shard. There were another 10 people in the capsule with us, but we had plenty of room to move around and take photos.

It was the perfect way to start our day in the city, and I'll share some more of our day throughout the week :)

PS. Although we didn't stay in London, Superbreak offer great deals on London hotels here.

  2. The last time I went on the Eye, it was pouring with rain! Even foggy and grey, it's still a beautiful landscape ;)
