365 x 2014 (March 19 - 25)

78/365: I started my day off with lots of melon, a yoghurt and 2 litres of water in an attempt to boost my weight loss before holiday! Also, it was the day of Kate's funeral so I knew I had to have a decent breakfast to see me through to after the ceremony. Over 500 people turned up at the church - it was such a great send off.
79/365: New caged sandals from New Look for holiday! They're so comfy and pretty. Ticking the most important boxes :)
80/365: My last day of work for 23 days! I practically skipped out of the office at 5pm... woohoo!
81/365: Remember Kizzy? Here she is, almost a year after she moved to the farm with my Grandparents :) Her green eyes are something else.
82/365: We took Mum out for an early Mother's Day lunch and ended up going back to a friends for Elderflower Gin and Tonics. By the time we were heading home, the sun was going down :)
83/365: CHEERS! To realising I had lost our Mastercards with almost all of our holiday spending money on at 9pm the day before we go to the airport. I am such an idiot. *facepalm*
84/365: Wasting time before heading off to the airport. Double, triple and quadruple checking everything now!

Well - we are off! In a few hours we'll be at our airport hotel, hopefully with access to all our spending money...and in 24 hours time we'll be on our way to California! As you can imagine, I won't be blogging whilst we are away, but keep an eye on my Instagram (@ohsorosie) as I'm sure I'll be updating there when I can.

In the words of Phantom Planet, "Californiaaa here we coooome!"

See you on the flip side!

On The Farm

My Grandparents live in a farm house they built themselves when my Mum was little. Walking around the yard yesterday with Mum, I spotted a few of my favourite old hiding places, and remembered the hours I'd waste with my sister trying to hide from her; in the dairy, behind the green house, in the potting shed... The ship puzzle on the wall has been there for as long as I can remember, but every year the garden changes. My Nana is the most skilled gardener I know. Yesterday felt very nostalgic.

365 x 2014 (March 12 - 18)

71/365: My hair seems to have grown inches in no time at all! I've taken a leaf out of Rosie's book and am avoiding heat as much as possible - I honestly do think it's made a difference. This is what my hair looks like when it's been half dryed with a hair dryer, and half air dryed. Like a lion!
72/365: I had to pop into the town centre to the bank, and snapped this quickly on my phone. Although a lot of people talk down about Midsomer Norton, days like this made me realise it's not so bad.
73/365: The fog! Another crazy weather shot to add to my collection.
74/365: Bailey the big bear boy saying hello :)
75/365: We were out visiting Ash's family after watching the football, and I couldn't resist snapping the golden hour.
76/365: And so, the packing begins! This is the lovely travel bag Ash gave me for Christmas, which will be my hand luggage. It's so pretty :) Can't wait to visit the Cath Kidston shop at Heathrow!
77/365: Lists are my life right now. I've started this one at work, there's one on the whiteboard in our room and another on my phone. Petrified I'll forget something!

It's been a really weird week, catching up with work things before I'm off for so long whilst trying to pack and also live to some normality.
I can't quite believe I've almost hit 200 followers on Bloglovin, it would be great to get that before we leave next week!

London Retro Jubilee + GIVEAWAY with Glasses Direct!

Last Summer I wrote about my 'eye history', and fell in love with Glasses Direct's home trial, which allows you to try on styles at home before choosing frames and getting your prescription fitted. I fancied getting a new pair for Summer, and after doing another home trial, settled on the Jubilee frames by London Retro.

Blogger's favourite glasses brand, London Retro, has gone underground with their newest collection 'Metropolitan.' Each style is named after one of the City's iconic tube stations and lines, like Jubilee, and the shapes are the perfect mix of retro meets modern. Every style comes in two colourways to compliment or contrast with your look. The Jubilee's also come in purple which look so good, but I just don't have the guts to attempt to pull off ;)
To celebrate the collection, Glasses Direct are giving away a pair of London Retro glasses or sunglasses of your choice! All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning, is fill out the Rafflecopter below,  leave a comment saying which style is your favourite from the Metropolitan collection, then head to the Glasses Direct Facebook page and leave a comment which says  "Enter Every Word Handwritten's blog giveaway." Don't forget to leave me a Twitter name or email address to contact you in case you're the winner! Giveaway ends at midnight on Sunday 23th March. Good luck! X

The Jubilee glasses were sent to me free of charge by Glasses Direct for the purpose of this blog post and giveaway.

365 x 2014 (March 5 - 11)

64/365: The most beautiful sunrise I've seen so far this year. The clouds were scattered so tinily all over the sky.
65/365: I was finally awarded my Club 10, meaning I've lost 10% of my starting weight. I'm 2.5lbs from losing a stone and a half, and 12lbs from target... not long to go!
66/365: Friday treats. The butterscotch chocolate was just something else!
67/365: Does anything beat singing along to Jackson 5 on a Saturday night? I think not!
68/365: I've finally started to use my Honey by Marc Jacobs perfume which I got for Christmas. I'm definitely going to be taking it away with me too :) It just smells like spring time to me.
69/365: A rare trip out of the Somerset office to the London HQ was a lot of fun. After the meeting, I explored the offices and stumbled across this giant Willow in one of the lobbys! Our team was also taken for lunch at the Kensington Wine Rooms which was lovely - such a treat! I had the best crème brûlée ever.
70/365: Damage limitation began! All those sweet treats at the weekend are bound to catch up with my on the scales on Thursday...

Well, what a week. "Real life" has been so distracting, that I've relied a lot on my iPhone for this weeks photos. Hoping to break that habit for the last couple of weeks before we go away.
Have you had a good week?

365 x 2014 (February 26 - March 4)

57/365: My first cold of the year. It knocked me for 3 days. I did struggle through though, not needing any time off work, just annoying my colleagues with my sniffling and sneezing instead ;) Also, here's a peak at my new tattoo!
58/365: WHY did I not try these jeans before? Topshop, I AM CONVERTED! I spent a gift card which my Grandparents gave me for my birthday on these, and I am packing them up and taking them off to America with me.
59/365: Sparkly nails and sparkly cats eyes. Friday was sparkly.
60/365: Ash's band played again in Bristol. Lots of friends were there, it was great to catch up. My favourite friend, Captain Morgan, even showed up ;)
61/365: I reluctantly listed my Cambridge Satchel on eBay.. boo! But since buying my Bryn, I haven't used it. I hope it goes to a loving new home.
62/365: I spent some time with my niece teaching her how to write the alphabet. I'm pretty proud of her! She got distracted half way through and said she couldn't do it any more, but after a bit of convincing that Grandad would love it, she got all the way to Z.
63/365: On Tuesday, my Mum got a call to say her best friend probably wouldn't live to the end of the day and to visit her soon. She went with my Dad to the hospice to say her goodbyes, and we got the news in the evening that she'd passed. There was the most beautiful sunset set, which just seemed appropriate. Rest in peace, Kate. You'll be missed forever. x
