Relieving Pressure for 2016

Towards the end of last year, I made a huge decision to relieve some pressure in my life. This decision included giving up wedding photography and taking a break from blogging.

The pressure of wedding photography was making me absolutely hate my camera. I rarely picked it up outside of using it for work, and the nights I'd spend after my 'proper job' editing photographs were miserable. I finished the weddings I already had, then closed my Facebook page and stopped accepting bookings.  Since then, I have definitely picked up my camera more, although not as much as I did 5 years ago.

As for blogging, it became a chore. I started this blog as somewhere to share photos and travel experiences and cocktail recipes, and the day it became something different was the day I fell out of love with it. I took a 'season' off - typically the most popular blogging season, Autumn. I now feel ready to start sharing things again, although it will be on a time-to-time basis, and not scheduled. Until then, I'm going back through my archives and deleting all the gubbins which doesn't need to be there. Hopefully by the end of the week, this space will be somewhere on the internet that I love to be.   Also - you may notice that I haven't repurchased my domain name, which was a conscious decision of mine and a good one, I feel!

I'll be back soon with an update... ;)
